virgin no more...to chinese orchestra performances.
christmas this year doesn't really feel like christmas to me.
perhaps it's cos i didn't go christmas presents shopping...
or maybe 'cos i didn't write many xmas cards.
or just maybe i just didn't do anything special this christmas.
like i used to the past few years.
just felt a little christmassy when Shi Cheng Hua Yue Tuan played the CO version of 'Jingle Bells'
ha. ha.
yep, i spent my christmas evening at Victoria Concert Hall watching my 1st CO concert.
of which my 2 pretty part-time bodyguards/part-time waitresses are performing in.
really amusing to watch them play their instruments.
hmm.. CO concerts are really quite different from Band concerts.
of cos the most obvious difference is that everything is in Chinese.
which took me a short while to get use to.
ooh. and they play real classical CO music.
i mean, the Band plays some classical music, but mostly typical band music, not so much of classical.
was impressed with the quality of the sound though.
and they even got a real professional singer to sing.
she was really emotional and expressive with her singing.
ooh. and many BIG shots were in the audience too.
of which i can't rem who they are.
'cos the clapping sound was too loud and i couldn't hear the emcee's voice.
but that whole scene when all the BIG shots went on stage to receive flowers,
it really reminded me of the Chinese New Year programme by CCTV(a China station)
where all the China BIG shots would go on stage to feel like a star and wave.
and the concert juz sparked my interest in The Dream of the Red Chamber.

after hearing the Dream of the Red Chamber Suite,
i really felt like watching the China drama serial of it...
the orchestra and singer managed to evoke quite a lot of emotions out of me..
don't know why, but just felt so touched by their music.
could somehow feel the pain that jia baoyu and lin daiyu went thru...
any kind souls who hv the VCD? ;)
i'd gladly lend u any of my palmistry books...
or yi shu in exchange?
oooh! and there were tacky poppers too! haha.
apparently it's Shi Cheng's 30th anniversary.
and after that we(mum, sis and i) went for dinner at some lousy shop which served SUPER over-priced food.
like a plate of a few measly pieces of duck for $10!!
and we had to pay $2 for 2 small bowls of rice.
plus $1.50 for 1 can of drink.
gosh.
and service was damn lousy too.
we asked for the breakdown of the prices of the food, but the lady wasn't able to tell us properly wat's the breakdown!
wah lao.

or something like that.
it's next to this pub called 'Xmosphere'.
so! do not go there!
