Chirpy Night Owls

an impromptu night out to 17 Miles for KTV with Jiasong and Muscleman. It's a super nice place! The exterior of it which looks like a club, and the interior which is looks like a very high class KTV.
best part of it?
25.50 yuan (S$5.10) for 3.5 hrs of crooning and free-flow F&B.

it's kinda funny how they provide tambourine and maracas as well.

it's even funnier when you see grown-up men playing with them. haha. that's the hunk playing with the stArRy taMbouRine.

and yes, we used them while each other were singing. it was especially fun when others were singing to the upbeat songs.

insomnia kicked in and i continued to watch "La Pianiste" till 6am.
it's terribly irritating how the sun rises at 4.30am here. doesn't help at all to solve my insomnia problem. like i feel that i shldn't be sleeping anymore since the sun is up already.

anyway, "La Pianiste"(The Piano Teacher) is unexpectedly disturbing.
it started off really nicely, with the expected classical piano tunes played. and it was really soothing too. i thought to myself that i shld have a rather peaceful sleep after watching it with all the calming music.

cute french boy came into picture too, made watching it such a pleasure. =)))

then i reached the last quarter of the movie and cldn't continue any further when it came to the scene of the lead actress pouncing onto her mother and kissing her furiously.

yes, u got that right. incest. and a really weird kinda incest. mother and daughter. yucks right? but i think she really cannot be blamed, after all the mental torment she's been through(caused by her mum). they have a rather weird relationship too. one moment they're pulling each other's hair, and next, she's all hugging and kissing her mum(normal family kinda hugs&kisses).
i just had to click that 'Stop' button if not i really won't be able to sleep at all with all those disturbing images in my mind.

went online to search about the movie, abt reviews of it. and apparently the movie was meant to shock the audience, make the audience feel uncomfortable and squirmy.

too lazy to elaborate more about the movie, but it really is one-of-a-kind. do catch it if u get the chance. plus it won 3 out of 7 awards in the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. (Grand Prize of the Jury + Best Actress + Best Actor) ((after which they made a rule that either best actress of best actor of 1 movie can win. not both. cos there are only 7 awards given out in the Film Fest. like 'huh...'))
i think i'm starting to like french movies. or at least those that i've watched are amazingly good. like "Les Choristes", "Jeux De'enfants", "Amelie".

Shall be making my way to my favourite 7 yuan DVD shop to scour for more.

still waiting at 2:50 am
